welcome

Welcome to Denise and Matthew

by Rev. Gabriel Baltes, O.S.B.  |  07/14/2024  |  A Message from Our Pastor

Dear Parishioners,

I am pleased to introduce two new members of our parish staff who were hired in the past three weeks.

The first of these is Denise Petty. Denise and her husband live in Naperville and have been in the western suburbs for almost 30 years. Their daughter, 19 years of age, is a sophomore at North Central College, and together, they are active parishioners of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where her daughter also attended school.

Denise’s background is in marketing & sales. She has engaged in a wide variety of volunteer work with such organizations as, Naperville Junior Woman's Club, Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, and her parish community as well. Previously she worked at St. Matthew Parish School in Glendale Heights as the Director of Marketing while at the same time, serving in that capacity, for the past 2 years at our own St. Joan of Arc Catholic School. When St. Matthew’s school closed last spring, Denise gladly accepted the position of Director of Communication and Marketing for our parish as well as our school. In this new role I am confident that there will be an even greater spirit of cooperation between our church and school. Denise will also coordinate fundraising activities for our parish.

Denise recognizes that strong communication is at the heart of a vibrant and engaged parish community. She is committed to ensuring that all our messages, events, and initiatives are effectively communicated to every member of our parish family.

In her spare time, Denise enjoys reading and travel, especially to Marco Island where they have family.

Our second newly hired staff member is Matthew Krumdrick. He and his wife Jenny of 20 years, have three children, Joe, Maria and Ella, and currently reside in Joliet. Matthew is taking on the ministry of Director of Adult Faith Formation replacing Konnor Damrey who left our parish to go work with college students. Matthew brings over 25 years of professional parish youth formation and ministerial experience to his new role which will include coordinating the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults). For the past 15 years, he has operated within a whole-family faith model, instilling a deep hunger for collaboration among leaders across all ages of parish life. His goal is to encourage cooperation across all ministries, igniting a passion in our parishioners for catechesis, evangelization, service, and worship. Matthew sees these as the essential ingredients for creating an impactful, sustainable, disciple-making community.

He enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, campfires, coffee chats, and mission trips. He also loves finding new and creative ways to use technology and worship to enliven his prayer life and the spiritual lives of others. Feel free to reach out to Matthew at 630-353-4531 or mkrumdrick@sjalisle.org to set up a coffee chat and share your hopes and dreams for Parish Adult Faith Formation here at St. Joan of Arc!

Matthew is eager to meet all parishioners at St. Joan of Arc and to journey with us as we enter our second 100 years.

Let us welcome both Denise and Matthew as we continue the work to which God has called us here at St. Joan of Arc.
