St. Joan of Arc's Centennial Celebration

Pastor’s Opening Statement for the Centennial

As the 13th pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish, it is my privilege to announce the opening of our Centennial Celebration that will begin on December 16, 2023 and conclude on December 14, 2024. Throughout this anniversary year, we will have a variety of events to bring us together as a community of faith in order to thank Almighty God for our one hundred years of parochial service to the church. These moments are also designed to deepen the familial bonds that unite us at the present as we look into the future with eagerness and hope. So let us cherish the tradition that has been handed down to us and open ourselves to the creative power of the Holy Spirit as we envision a community according to the mind of God. May God who began this good work, bring it to completion.

Centennial Events

On December 14, 1924, above Albert Riedy's Hardware Store and with an altar borrowed from St. Procopius Abbey, 261 people attended the first Mass of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. From that day, our parish has grown in ministry, service, and education to its faithful and the Lisle community. As we approach our 100th anniversary, in tandem with the Diocese of Joliet's 75th anniversary, we will begin our celebration with events throughout the year to mark our Church sacraments, Feast Days and parish fellowship for the entire family.
