Deacon Denis Stucko

Deacon Denis Stucko was born August 15, 1933, in Chicago. He attended St. Hyacinth School in Chicago through fourth grade, then moved to Westmont and attended St. Joseph’s School from fifth grade through eighth grade. Denis attended St. Patrick High School in Chicago, and then enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a tail-gunner on B-29’s for four years.

After military service, Denis went to St Procopius College, and graduated with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He sold medical equipment to hospitals and clinics for Miles Laboratories. Denis was married to the late Joan Stucko for over forty-five years. He has three children and eight grandchildren, whom he had the pleasure of baptizing. Deacon Denis was ordained a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Joliet on May 4, 1979. In his spare time, he loves to gourmet cook, go fishing, garden, watercolors, and read.
