Join us for a 7-week session on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00pm on the following dates: Mar 6, 13, 27, Apr 3, 10, 24, and May 1st, 2025. The meetings are in person, or you may attend via Zoom. This support group is open to adults aged 21 and older who have lost a loved one, be it a spouse, parent, child, or close friend. The support group recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each individual, their perception of loss, and expression of grief. Reactions to loss can vary from disbelief, anger, depression, feelings of isolation, guilt, and more. Each individual who experiences a loss needs to be able to express themselves and be heard for effective grieving to take place.
It is important to understand that this is not a counseling or therapy group. It can definitely be therapeutic, but the focus is on providing a supportive environment in which to work through your grief under the direction of our Parish Nurse facilitator. For many, there may be few places where a grieving individual can get support and be themselves as they grieve, with no judgment. Saint Joan of Arc Grief Support Group combines aspects of various Catholic and other Christian Grief Support Programs to provide a safe place to share and express thoughts & feelings. Participants will have the opportunity to share their story, identify or develop and utilize healthy personal coping skills, engage in dialogue around topics such as social and spiritual concerns, and begin the process of adapting to life without their loved one while transforming their relationship with them.
Saint Joan of Arc Grief Support Group is FREE of charge for you, your family, and friends.
