Alpha for Families
This fall, Alpha at St. Joan of Arc will place a greater emphasis on helping families explore faith together.
Parents and other adults will take part in the familiar Alpha experience through hospitality, engaging videos, and open conversation about life, faith, and Jesus. At the same time, we are developing age-appropriate opportunities for children and younger members of the family to engage with related themes.
The goal is more than providing childcare while parents attend a program. We want to help families grow closer to Christ, strengthen conversations about faith at home, and build relationships with other families in the parish.
When and Where:
Join us on Thursday evenings starting Sep 3, from 6:45-8:30pm in Room #22 of the Parish Center.

- September: 3, 10, 17, 24
- October: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
- November: 5, 12

I just wanted to share a letter to say how truly grateful I am for you bringing The Alpha Program to St. Joan of Arc Lisle. I wasn't sure what to expect out of the program or even what the program was to be honest. The one thing I did know was that I was seeking something bigger than myself and had been for quite some time. I had been sensing something beyond what we see here pulling me in to get a closer relationship with God which I can now only describe as The Holy Spirit. That is just one of the many things I've learned because of attending The Alpha Program.
Nevertheless, I am so much more easily aware of The Holy Spirit now and it is absolutely beautiful. Since Alpha, I have become more patient in every moment giving myself more time for prayer. I've always prayed at any given moment, but now I'm doing it not just for myself and my family, but for many others. I'm praying for friends, neighbors, acquaintances, animals, etc. It's like I can see Jesus in everyone in some way now and that too, is something I've gained from Alpha. The program really created a sense of community unlike one I have felt before. Being a bit of an introverted person, I did not expect to create the friendships that I have and I am very grateful for every person that attended.
Everyone has a piece of my heart.
I will recommend the Alpha program as well as the Alpha Retreat to everyone!
It was a truly moving experience to have now been prayed over and something I will cherish forever.
Last but certainly not least, the program has brought my first born son and myself closer and that means everything to this Mom. He too absolutely loved the program.
