Music Ministries

Cantors

Cantors lead the music at Sunday liturgies and at other liturgical rites. Cantors are typically high school age or older. Cantors are auditioned and must be able to sing the various parts of the Mass (e.g., the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel Acclamation) and must attend monthly rehearsals. The ability to read music is not required but is helpful.

Parish Choir

The Parish Choir leads the worshipping assembly in song at the 9:30am Sunday Eucharist and select liturgical celebrations, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, Holy Week/Easter, Confirmation, First Communion and Graduation. The choir sings a wide variety of music, from traditional chants to contemporary songs. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the church and starting at 8:45am on Sunday mornings. The ability to read music is helpful, but not required.

Elementary Choir

The Elementary Choir is composed of students in Grades 4 through 8 who attend St. Joan of Arc School. This group sings for the weekly Student Body Masses. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday afternoons, immediately after school, lasting until 3:15pm.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists enhance our worship for special liturgical celebrations. All instrumentalists – high school age and older – are encouraged to participate in these liturgies. Brass, woodwind, string, percussion, bass, and guitar are all welcome. Interested individuals should be proficient on their instrument, and willing to practice and learn music on their own.
