The preparation for First Holy Communion is a two-year, consecutive program completed through either St. Joan of Arc School or the Parish Religious Education Program. Registration for the first year of preparation through the Religious Education Program begins each March.
Because First Holy Communion is a sacred encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist, children are encouraged to participate actively in the life of the Church throughout their preparation. To receive this sacrament, children must be baptized in the Catholic faith and regularly practice their faith through participation in Mass and parish life.
