What We Heard from You: Survey Overview and Top Trends
Dear Parish Family,
Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our recent Adult Faith Formation survey. Your voices have spoken loud and clear, and we’re eager to respond! This survey was designed to help us better understand your interests, challenges, and motivations for participating in faith formation programs here at St. Joan of Arc. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing a series of insights that emerged from your responses—along with exciting new opportunities for you to dive deeper into your faith and connect with one another.
What Are Parishioners Most Drawn To?
Several programs emerged as clear favorites. Here’s what resonated most across our parish family:
- Bible Study: Many of you are eager to deepen your understanding of scripture. Our Bible Study is underway, and it’s not too late to join! (More details below.)
- Retreats: Taking time away to renew your spirit is a priority for many. Our recent Men’s retreat finished up (can they find the pictures in a previous bulletin or anywhere online?) and we are discerning our next steps ahead. Look forward to announcements of upcoming retreats designed with your needs in mind.
- Catholicism 101/OCIA: This program meets Sunday mornings after the 9:30am Mass at 10:40am. It’s an ideal space for those curious about Catholicism, those interested in deepening their faith, or those who may want to join the Church. All are welcome!
These preferences show a deep hunger for both personal and shared spiritual enrichment—something we’re committed to providing in ways that are accessible and meaningful.
Key Topics that Matter to You
When it comes to specific areas of learning, several themes stand out:
- Catholic Teachings: Many of you want to better understand the foundations of our faith. We’ll be working to provide resources that help clarify and deepen our Catholic beliefs.
- Spirituality and Prayer: A heartfelt desire to grow closer to God through personal and communal prayer was a strong theme.
- Church History: Interest in the rich history of the Church tells us there’s a need to explore our traditions more deeply. Look out for upcoming events on this topic!
What’s Getting in the Way?
Your feedback also highlighted a few challenges:
- Time Constraints: We hear you—balancing work, family, and other commitments can make attending programs tough. In response, we’ll work to provide more flexible scheduling.
- Awareness of Programs: Some parishioners mentioned they didn’t know about existing opportunities. We’re taking action to improve our communication so you’ll always know what’s available.
These are challenges we’re committed to overcoming so that everyone has the chance to grow in faith.
Get Involved Right Now!
One opportunity that’s already available is our Bible Study group, which meets Thursday mornings from 9:15-10:35am. Upcoming dates include November 7 and 14, with a break for Thanksgiving before resuming on December 5. It’s not too late to join us for these sessions! Come, explore scripture in a welcoming setting, and discover insights that can transform your understanding of faith.
Stay Tuned for More!
This is just the beginning. Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more insights from your feedback and new opportunities to connect and grow. If you’ve been waiting to take a step deeper into your faith, now is the time. We’re listening—and we’re here to help you grow.
Let’s make this a season of renewed faith, together.
